LET'S GO OUT TO THE BALL GAME!

TWO GREAT BALL TEAMS IN LOUISVILLE

LOUISVILLE BATS BASEBALL

Summertime in the city is the perfect time to take in a ball game.  Kentucky is BIG basketball state...but there are other options too.  If you have not had the chance yet to take in a Louisville Bats or LouCity game then this summer would be the perfect chance to start.

Louisville's AAA team the Louisville Bats play at Louisville Slugger Field.  The Bats have averaged 8,827 fans per game since the opener in 2000.  It is a very family friendly and layed back atmosphere at the field, with areas for fans to bring a picnic and let the kids play while watching the game.  It is so popular with fans that Slugger Field was voted the Best AAA Ballpark in America for 2016 by Ballpark Digest.
You can buy tickets and check out the schedule, including updated promotions and special events at batsbaseball.com or call the front office at 502-212-2287.

LOUISVILLE CITY SOCCER

Louisville Soccer has taken off in popularity and the LouCity team is wowing the fans with one win after another!  Fast paced and fun to watch, the team is on a 15 match winning streak and first place in the league.
They also play at Louisville Slugger Field. You can find out more about the team and the players and also buy tickets at www.Louisvillecityfc.com

LOUISVILLE SPECIALTY ICE CREAM

And what would summer be like without ice cream???? The perfect way to cool off after taking in one of the ball games.
Locally you can find great flavors at Greaters, Gelato Roberto, Louisville Pie and Ice Cream Kitchen and the Comfy Cow.

Recently I noticed that Comfy Cow was featured in the July issue of Southern Living Magazine.
They pictured their Bourbon Ball ice cream.  Being a huge bourbon ball fan I went right over and tasted it ...sure enough it is great!  So good I even brought some back to the inn and made the guests sample some with a little drizzle of Buffalo Traces Bourbon Cream over the top.  Pretty good.
All of these businesses produce small batches and have many creative flavors along with everyone's traditional favorites.
