Light Up St. Matthews Happens December 5

Light Up St. Matthews has been a tradition for decades for residents and visitors.  The event which is held in Brown Park includes musical entertainment, pictures with Santa, train rides,  and horse drawn carriage for the whole family.  The event goes on regardless of the weather. Free cookies and hot chocolate and hot cider are served under a huge tent in the park.  There is plenty of parking nearby.

The event gets under way at 4:00pm and ends at 6:00pm when the switch is thrown to turn on all the thousands of colorful displays throughout the park. The lights remain on each night during the holiday season so visitors can stroll around the grounds of the park and enjoy the festive decorations.

Brown Park is just a block south of the Inn and many of my guests enjoy walking there year round. Pathways wind through the rolling hillside and beside beautiful Beargrass Creek.  It is a favorite spot for Canadian geese and mallard ducks who never seem to fly north or south.
